Aaron's Birthday BBQ

Since we went to Las Vegas during Aaron's actual birthday we held his birthday BBQ this weekend. It was fun, just the right amount of friends and lots of yummy burgers and side dishes. Thanks Wendy for all your help with the food and clean up. Misha we missed you, Tony even bought blue cheese for you and his burgers. We will do them another time. Hope your feeling better soon.

Here is a quick snip of the party.

I ended up with the flu bug yesterday and still today. I have to miss another bunco :o( .

Las Vegas!!

What a weekend is all I can say. I certainly needed a weekend away and boy did I let loose. Wendy had 12 of us go out to Vegas to celebrate her 40th birthday. We stayed at the Mandalay Bay and what a beautiful hotel it is. The pool area is like an amusement park. We arrived Friday night and met Wendy, Chris, Deb and Mike by the pool. They had been there a majority of the day, so I felt compelled to catch up with them with the beverages. I had 2 margaritas and 2 shots of Patron within a 45 minute period. That didn't include the shot of tequila I took in the room before going to the pool and the other shot I took when we got back from the pool. Needless to say I was feeling no pain (until the next a.m.). We then got ready to meet everyone for dinner at Rum Jungle for dinner. I heard the food was delicious. I couldn't eat my $85 plate of food (drank too much). We then ended up at the club at the very top of the Mandalay Bay called the Foundation Room. You have to be a member or guest to get into it. Our friend Deb got us all in some how and that was loads of fun. By 12:00 midnight I walked myself out of the bar into my wonderful bed in the hotel.

Here are some pics of us.

I awoke and met the girls at 10:00 a.m. in the lobby to go shopping at Cesars Palace and have lunch. I window shopped as there was no way I was buying anything in those stores YIKES! The other gals had fun making purchases and I enjoyed watching them. Lunch was delicious. We ate at Spagos. At around 4:00 we met the men around the pool for drinks (ugh not me). I drank lots of Diet Pepsi (yuch I hate pepsi, thats all they had). Then we all got ready for our Birthday dinner with the gang. We ate at Smith and Wollenski. Wow is all I can say. We had a private room in the kitchen. It was a glassed in room where you could see the chefs cooking. The whole crew in the kitchen were such good sports. They joked around with us a lot with some of the funny things we were doing in there (not that bad). Chris bought us all (12 of us) dinner and wine.

Aaron's Pre-Bday Celebration

We took Aaron to Fridays for dinner a few days before we left for Las Vegas. He chose Fridays. We let him bring a friend to celebrate and he brought his friend James. James has been a friend of Aaron's for a long time from our old neighborhood. We camp with them and a few of our other friends from the old neighborhood. Our old neighborhood is like 5 minutes away Hee Hee.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT - Viejo Elementary

I have been terrible about posting on my blog lately sorry. My camera broke in June and I hadn't had a working one since. I have had to borrow Michele's and other friends when I needed one. I finally got a new one thanks to my awesome husband. Here are some photo's of last Fridays family fun night. Viejo Elementary had the Alley Cats come sing 50's music and it was a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures of the event. Alyssa was wearing a poodle skirt and looked so cute. Before the show started someone threw ice on cans of soda and one exploded all over her outfit and her face (very sticky). I had to go home and get her some jeans. Anyways, here are the pictures.

Alyssa is in the OC Register (online news)

What a proud mamma I am today. Alyssa's photo is in the OC Register online newspaper. Saturday was the first game of the season and I have to say they are all starting off great. Alyssa wanted to be Keeper (Goalie) and Coach Will let her go for it. I was a wreck hoping that she wouldn't get blamed when a ball got by her. You know kids can be tough on each other. But, she did an awesome job and it is all in good fun. That game she also made the one and only goal for her team. She is off to a rockin start. Here is the link to her wonderful picture. Click more photos and she the 4th picture. Or just check out my photo here that i copied. The article mentions her team the Neon Knockouts.

School is in Session and so is chaos

Well the chaos has begun. The kids are back in school. Alyssa is in 4th Grade and Aaron is 6th Grade this year. Aaron begain middle school at Carl Hankey. He is really liking it so far. Alyssa has Ms. Smith as her 4th grade teacher who is awesome. Aaron had her in 3rd and did really well.

Then... of course soccer began. The kids played their first games this Saturday. Alyssa's team is called the Neon Knockouts. Yep, she is that highlighter yellow color again!! She was that last year. She insisted that she wanted to do Goalie so coach Will put her in. She did okay, they put her out in the field and she made a goal. Her team lost 2 to 1. Not sure if I like the Goalie position for her, that is a bit of pressure. Then had another game today (Sunday), they wont 2-1. They played a tough game.

Aaron is navy blue and gold. They are called the Dark Knights (Batmans movie). He played Saturday and his games are at 5:00 p.m. (crazy). They lost 2-1. Aaron also is playing goalie as well as defender too.

That's a quick catch up.
